Death came unexpectedly to Finley N. Atwell, 54, after suffering an apparent heart attack in Dayton at 5 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. His home was just north of the old Oxford church, northwest of Mulberry.
Mr. Atwell was born in Kentucky March 14, 1909, a son of R. Lonnie and Lula Whitlock Atwell. He had been employed by the Fairfield Manufacturing Co., Lafayette, for 35 years.
The parents survive, as do[es] the widow, Mrs. Evelyn Martin Atwell, to whom he was married Jan. 10, 1935. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Philip Chittick of Rossville; a son, Joe Atwell of Lafayette route 5; a sister, Mrs. Clifford Myers of Mulberry; a half-sister, Mrs. Ada Lake of Lafayette, and three grandchildren.
