Following an illness of two weeks, Robert Lonnie Atwell, 86, died at 3:45 p. m. Monday at his home in Mulberry.

Born in Metcalfe county, Ky., on December 19, 1877, he was the son of James and Amanda Slinker Atwell. He was first married to Ann Martin, who died in 1904. Two years later he married Lula Whitlock, who survives.

A retired farmer, Mr. Atwell was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Surviving besides the widow are two daughters, Mrs. Clifford Myers of Mulberry and Mrs. Ada Lake of Lafayette; 18 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren. Four children, Ureal, Finley, Alvin and Lela, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Wednesday at the Johnson Funeral Home, with Bishop David Glover officiating. Burial was in the Wyandotte cemetery
