Monday Pendergrass, 81, died Thursday night at Bulloch Memorial Hospital after a long illness. The Tattnall County native was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church, Register. He was a Mason and a member of the Charity and Goodwill Society.

He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Dora Mae Walker, Mrs. Shirley Young and Mrs. Christine Brown, all of Statesboro and Mrs. Letha Morant, Register; three sons, Lonzo Pendergrass, Pehokee, Fla., Sgt. Kelly Pendergrass, Fort Stewart, and Robert Pendergrass, Statesboro; four sisters, Mrs. Bessie Thompson and Mrs. Leona Frink, both of Statesboro, Mrs. Bennie Boggs, Claxton and Mrs. Katie Moffett, Savannah; three brothers, Chester Pendergrass, Coat, N.J., Johnny Pendergrass, Jacksonville, Fla., and J. D. Pendergrass, Clermont, Fla.; and several other relatives.

The funeral service for Mr. Pendergrass will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. T. J. Simmons officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. James R. Barnes Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
