He was born June 24, 1893, in the Town of Salisbury, the son of William A. and Sarah Wilson Voorhees. He was a lifelong resident of the Salisbury Center area.
He was married Dec. 31,1925, to the former Miss Gladys Irene Hunt, who survives. He was a veteran of World War I, serving as private with the Army.
Survivors, besides his wife, are two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Nellie) Brown of Dolgeville and Mrs. Bessie Caudy of Vails Gate, Orange County; several nieces and nephews.
