JOSEPH HERNANDEZ Joseph Hernandez was born on March 19, 1920, in El Paso, Texas, and raised in Dinuba, CA. He passed away on November 28, 2002, at the age of 82 years in Fresno, CA. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941-1945, where he was a WWII hero in four major battles earning a Bronze Star, CIB, American Defense Service Metal, Good Conduct Metal and American Campaign Metal. Mr. Hernandez retired from General Box Factory after 38 years of service. He was a member of the St. John's Guadalupe Society. His wife, Josefina Hernandez of 51 years, preceded him in death. Mr. Hernandez is survived by his daughters, Mary Hernandez, Anna Rodriguez and her husband Paul; son, Lupe Hernandez and his wife Sabina; granddaughters, Sarah and Victoria Hernandez; and all the many nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held at Whitehurst Chapel on Wednesday, December 4, 2002, from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at the Whitehurst Chapel on Wednesday, December 4, 2002, at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Johns Cathedral Church in Fresno on Thursday, December 5, 2002, at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
