Funeral services were held this afternoon Thursday at the Trinity Lutheran Church for Mrs. Gust Engstrand of Shafer, 53 years of age, who died at her home a few miles southwest of Shafer at 11:15 am Sunday. Mrs. Engstrand had been failing for five years and had suffered several strokes.
Rev. M. D. Haferman officiated at the services and pallbearers were: John Hoeft, George Erickson, Ed Haselhuhn, August Johnson, George Gummerson, and Charles Swenson. Burial was made at Fairview.
The deceased whose maiden name was Ingeborg Gunderson was born March 28, 1881 at Agersund, Norway, was confined in the home parish and came to America at the age of 17. She went to St. Paul, married Gustaf Engstrand, March 3, 1900 and settled near Shafer on a farm in 1903 and has resided there since. During the last 25 years she has been a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church at Lindstrom.
The respected lady leaves her husband and four sons and daughters. The sons and daughters are: Roy Engstrand of St. Paul, Victor Engstrand of Shafer, Clinton Engstrand of Bartesville, OK and Mrs. Edwin Hawkinson, Shafer.
