Abraham Emanuel Israelson Abraham died Thursday evening at 7:30 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Anna Hendrickson, 611, Grimes Street, from infirmities due to his advanced age. Had he lived until Thursday of this week he would have beed 88 years old.
Funeral services were ehdl this afternoon. Short services were held at the home of his daughter at 1 o'clock followed by services at the Swedish Mission Church at 1:30 o'clock, in charge of Rev. G. W. Hawkinson. The pall bearers were Reuben Johnson of Omaha; Roy Johnson of Clarrinda; Reuel Abraham, Clifford Abraham, Elmer Hendrickson and Andrew Jacobson of Red Oak. All are grandsons except Mr. Jacobson.
Abraham Emmanuel Isrealesson Abraham was born in October 24, 1842 in Navelsjo, Jonkoping, Sweden, the child of Israel Johansson and Maria Abrahamsdotter. He grew to manhood in his native country and was married Johanna "Hannah" Anderson on October 28, 1868, in Sweden. In 1891 he came with his wife and children to this country locating first in Essex. Later he moved to the Nyman vicinity and ten years ago came to Red Oak to make his home. Since the death of his wife in Red Oak, October 12, 1928, he has made his home with his children.
He was the father of eight children, six of whom are living. They are Rev. Frank O. Abraham, minister of the Mission Church at Pilot Mound, Iowa. Clade Abraham of Essex, Charley Abraham, Herman Abraham, Mrs. Joe A. Johnson and Mrs. Anna Hendrickson of Red Oak, all of whom attended the funeral. Besides his children he is survived by 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
