Funeral services for Charley Edward Abraham, 77, railroad man and resident of this vicinity most of his adult life, will be held Friday, October 3, at 2 P.M. at the First Covenant Church, Red Oak, Iowa.
He died Tuesday, September 30, 1958, at the Ellis Nursing Home here after nearly two months of illness (generalized arteriosclerosis).
The Rev. Raymond Johnson will officiate and burial will be in the Essex Lutheran Cemetery, Essex, Iowa, New Addition, Fifth Row, Lot 8.
The son of Emanuel and Johanna Abraham, he was born October 24, 1878, in Sweden and came to this country in 1886. He had been a Red Oak resident since 1926. He was married at Essex in 1907 to Delia Eugenia Hart, who died in 1937. Surviving are two sons, Clifford of Red Oak, and Kenneth of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Mrs. Vandelyn Miller of Omaha, Nebraska and Mrs. Gladys Dedrickson, Red Oak, Iowa; five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. J. A. Johnson, Red Oak; three brothers, Claus of Essex, Herman of Red Oak, and Frank of Pilot Mount, Iowa.
