N. G. Hickam Dies Wednesday; Funeral Friday

N. G. Hickam, 77, a retired farmer of Franklin township, died early Wednesday morning at his home south of Freedom. He had been seriously ill for about a week, but had been in failing health for several months.

He was born in Owen County, September 11, 1874, a son of the late William and Iva (Workman) Hickam. For many years he was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church and for more than 50 years was a member of the Freedom Masonic Lodge. He held a 50 year service pin in this fraternal order. Mr. Hickam was married to Miss Emma Burton and they observed their golden wedding anniversary several years ago.

Survivors include the wife and three children, namely; Mrs. Klea Johnson, of Clayton, Mrs. Adria Fender, Spencer; and Casper (Cap) Hickam of Freedom. He also leaves eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one brother, William Hickam, of Worthington.

Following death the body was brought to the West & Son Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at two o'clock, and interment will be made in Riverside Cemetery.
