William L. "Bill" Braden, 84, of Oliver Springs, died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mr. Braden was born Aug. 21, 1915, in Oliver Springs and had lived in the area all of his life. He had worked as a farmer and truck driver.He was the son of Richard H. and Maude Lockett Braden.He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Braden of Oliver Springs; his grandchildren, Mark Bratcher and his wife, Debbie, and Rebecca Freels and her husband, Barry, all of Oliver Springs; his great-grandchildren, Mark Bratcher, Adam Bratcher, Ashley Dawson and Jamie Dawson; two brothers, Sam Braden and his wife, Katherine, and Jay Braden and his wife, Peggy, all of Oliver Springs; his sister, Viola Bartley of Whitmore Lake, Mich.; and by several nieces and nephews.Raymond Hooks of Clinton was considered a loyal and faithful friend.Mr. Braden's wife, Marjorie Louise Dagley Braden, died earlier. Another brother, Otis Carter Braden, and two sisters, Eula Shears and Lorene Upchurch, also died earlier.
The funeral will be held at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Joe Copeland officiating.A graveside service will be conducted at noon Wednesday, April 12, at Anderson Memorial Gardens, Oliver Springs Highway, Clinton.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
