Hyrum married Minnie Albrecht, a daughter of Mina Haker and George Albrecht, March 27, 1894 in Fremont, Utah, solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, June 7, 1922. They are the parents of 11 children.
Hyrum was an industrious, resourceful, and disciplined man, and experienced a great deal of success in his business, agricultural, and community endeavors.
Hyrum and Minnie cared for his father, William Wilson Morrell, who lost his sight in his final few years, until his death in 1907, as well as his mother, Julia, who lived in an adjacent sawed log home on their farm until her death in 1913. Hyrum and Minnie's home, and the building that was Julia's home still stand in the present day.
Hyrum died at his home south east of Fremont, Utah, on March 15, 1949. He was 78.
Surviving were six daughters, Dortha Taylor, Dolly Jenson, Ella Jenson, Elsie Taylor, Arlena Taylor, and Julia Fillmore.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Minnie; his daughter, F. Melenda Morrell; his four sons, H. Lenard Morrell, Milton Morrell, Milford Morrell, and Vance Morrell; and all of his siblings: his brothers, W. Henry and George; and his half brothers and sisters, Silas Morrell, E. Jane Morrell, Sarah Maxfield, Cecelia Swanner, Mary Frances Morrell, Ellenor Harper, Charles Hoalst, William Elmer Morrell, Martha Ann Morrell, J. Frank Morrell, and Nancy Jenson.

FREMONT, Wayne County — Hyrum Morrell, 78, veteran rancher and stockman of Fremont, died suddenly at his home of a heart ailment Tuesday at 11:45 a.m.
Born in Kamas, Summit county, Feb. 1, 1871, he was a son of William W. and Dorthea Marie Jacobsen Morrell. He married Minnie Albrecht in 1893 in Fremont. She died a number of years ago.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Taylor, Mrs. Dolly Jenson, Mrs. Ella Jenson, Mrs. Elsie Taylor, Mrs. Arlena Taylor, Mrs. Julia Fillmore, all of Fremont; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Fremont ward chapel, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Friday at 1 p.m. by Matt Behunin, bishop. Burial will be in the Fremont cemetery.
