SHILOH - Richard Cole, 67, of 64 Pettit St. died Sunday, Sept. 7, 1997, at his home after a long illness.

Born January 18, 1930, in Plymouth, Ohio, he had been a former resident of Marshall, MI, moving to the Shiloh area in 1960.

Mr. Cole was employed as a plumber with Harriman-Roth Plumbing and Heating, retiring in 1994 and had served with the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper during the Korean conflict. He received his pilot's license in 1973, was an avid fisherman and enjoyed building model airplanes.

Surviving are his mother, Lucy (Cole) Cole of Marshall, MI; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Richard James Cole at home and David & Judy Cole of Wingett Run, OH; two daughters and one son-in-law, Richelle & Gary Lacy of Shiloh and Deborah Weaver of Mansfield; 9 grandchildren; one great-grandson; special companion, Lottie Noblett of Shiloh; one brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Joan Cole of Battle Creek, MI; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth & Homer Williams of Los Angeles, CA, Ruby Trine of Shelby, Thelma & Mort Maulding of Battle Creek, MI, Audrey Napier & Newt Ketchum of Homer, MI, Sharon Adams of Jackson, MI, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores C. Cole, July 26, 1993; his father, Dayton Cole, in 1967; and one brother, Raymond Cole, in 1965.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Barkdull Funeral Home. Ronald Hyde of the congregation of the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall will officiate with interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shiloh. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Memorial expressions may be made in care of the family and left at the funeral home.
