Audrey E. (Cole) Ketchum, 72, of Eckford, died on Monday, March 24, 2008, at her home surrounded by her family after a long illness.

Mrs. Ketchum was born on January 12, 1936, in Plymouth, Ohio, to Dayton and Lucy Cole. She graduated from Olivet High School in 1953. Mrs. Ketchum worked for Mar Lee Schools for many years as a teacher''s aid and an office clerk. She retired in 1982. In 1978 she married Ernest Napier. He preceded her in death in 1979. In 1981 she and Elmer Ketchum fell in love and were married on January 18, 2002.

Mrs. Ketchum enjoyed gardening, and she would can and freeze everything she grew for the winter. She enjoyed sewing, word puzzles, playing cards and was an avid reader.

She is survived by her husband Elmer of Eckford, three sons; Robert (Diana) Pritchard, David Pritchard, all of Eckford, Carl (Serena) Pritchard of Battle Creek, daughter Brenda (Paul) Hall of Marshall, two step children; John Ketchum of Arizona, Susan (Richard) Ludwig of Jackson, 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Ruth (Homer) Williams of Los Angeles, California, Thelma (Morton) Maulding, of Battle Creek, Sharon Adams of Jackson, a brother Russell (Joan) Cole of Battle Creek, a special dog Lady Lucy, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernest Napier, two brothers; Raymond Cole and Richard Cole, and sister Ruby Trine.

Visitation will take place at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-8pm with family present to greet friends from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral services celebrating her life will take place at 1pm at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Hall officiating. Entombment will take place at Hill Crest Memorial Gardens in Jackson. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society of Calhoun County. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Funeral Home.
