THE PARIS NEWS, Wed., Aug. 23, 1995, p.10A. 'Gladys Barrett Maddux, 95, of Arlington, formerly of Blossom, died Monday, Aug. 21, 1995, in Heritage Oaks Nursing Home in Arlington. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, in the First Baptist Church in Blossom with Dr. L.C. Stout and the Rev. Kyle Henderson [officiating]. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home will make burial in Knights of Honor Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Maddux was born Nov. 2, 1899, in AR, a daughter of Hawkins A. and Maggie Jane Houser Barrett. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Blossom, was a private sitter, and was a graduate of Garvin, OK schools. She attended Southeastern State University. Her husband, Columbus M. Maddux died in 1955. Surviving are a son, Bobby Maddux of Arlington; a daughter, Paralee Wiley of Chester Heights, PA; a brother, James Barrett of Idabel, OK; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be John Graves, Jerry Allen, Joe Tom Brewer, Charles Fendley, Lee Waddle and James White.'
