Mr. Latimer, eldest son of Guy James and Elva (Armstrong) Latimer, grew up on the family farm northwest of Canute, OK, where he attended the public schools. On Dec. 25, 1941 he was married to Wanda Williams at Canute. During World War 2 he served with the U. S. Navy SeeBees in the South Pacific.

Following his discharge, the couple made their home in Elk City, OK, where they were self-employed. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two sisters and one son, Jackie Lynn, in 1999.

In addition to his wife, he was survived by three daughters: Bonnie LaVon, Elva Beth and Lou Ann; one son, James Gayle, one sister, Edith Ferguson, one brother, John Carl and several grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted by Ron Johnson at the Martin Funeral Home Chapel, Elk City, and final resting place was in Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City.
