The daughter of James Guy and Elva Mae (Armstrong) Latimer, Miss latimer moved with her parents from Washita County, OK to a farm in Beckham County, OK. She attended school first at the small country school named Hager and later transfered to the Canute Public Schools.

After the death of her mother in 1936, she assumed the responsibility of caring for her three younger siblings. A care giver for many years, she cared for her father during his last years of life and then for an aging aunt. After her own health began to fail, she moved to Tatum, TX to be near her sister and her family. She was a member of the Protestant faith known as The Way (Friends).

Preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother in 1917 and an infant sister in 1930, she was survived by one sister, Edith Ferguson and her husband, Cephas, of Tatum, and two brothers; Loyd Latimer and his wife, Wanda, of Elk City, OK and John Carl and his wife, Jean, of Woodward, OK. Also surving are many cousins, nieces, nephews and Friends.

Final resting place: Tatum Cemetery, Tatum, TX.
