Ben Heard Dies.
Death Claims Noble Young Man in Flower of Manhood.
After a lingering illness of several weeks, Mr. Ben Heard died of typhoid fever at his father's home, near the city, last Saturday morning. Young Mr. Heard was 22 years of age and was a young man of bright promise. He was highly esteemed by his many acquaintances and friends, who lament his untimely departure. He leaves a father and mother, several brothers and sisters and many friends. The funeral services, conducted by Rev. I. G. Murray, were held at the Baptist Church in LaFayette Sunday afternoon, where a large concourse of people paid their parting tribute of respect and sympathy. The bereaved have the sincere sympathy of the community.
