Mr. W. L. Heard Dies At Home Near City.
Mr. W. L. Heard, well-known citizen of this county, died at his home a few miles south of town on the Cusseta Road last Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. He had been in declining health for some time and had been in the hospital for the past five months. He was seventy-one years old at the time of his death.
The deceased is survived by his wife, four daughters - Mrs. J. H. Boyd, LaFayette; Mrs. Charles Douglas, Birmingham, Mrs. J. L. Hadaway, Cusseta; Mrs. Ben Proctor, Birmingham; three sons - Turner Heard, Birmingham; Will Heard, LaFayette, and Wade Heard.
Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. S. P. Spiegel, of West Point. The remains were interred in the city cemetery.
