Jesse was born in North Carolina about 1795 and became a physician, practicing in North Carolina, Tennessee and Missouri.He married Mary Ann Elizabeth Bryan on 26 Dec 1820 in Granville County, North Carolina. They were the parents of five children: Joseph, William, Mary and twins Sally Ann and John P. Isler. His wife died in 1860 and at the time of his death in 1865 he was living with his daughter Sally in Massachusetts.
