VICTORIA - Carl H. Acord, 76, of Victoria, passed away Monday, Aug. 8, 2011. He was born Feb. 23, 1935, in Oark, Ark., to the late John H. and Ethel Melson Acord. He was born and raised in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. He moved to Texas in his late teens and worked in the construction business. Carl was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, having dedicated his life to Jehovah God on Oct. 3, 1953. He spent the rest of his life helping others learn what the Bible really teaches.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Jenell Conrad Acord of Victoria; son, Marshall Zane Acord and wife, Carla of Austin; daughters, Leslie Hubenak and husband, Ronnie, of Edna, and Lani Rodriguez and husband, Mario of Victoria; and sister, Ruby Nowotny of Clarksville, Arkansas.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by infant twins, Keith Lance and Carla Nell Acord; sister, JoAnn Schwartz; and brothers, Dennis, Harold, Roy and Dan.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. with a minister of Jehovah Witnesses, Bill Hasdorff, officiating.
