Obituary - Joy Faye Barker, 77 year old Mooreland Heritage Manor resident, died Monday, December 24, 2012 in the Woodward Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel in Woodward. Interment will be at the Vassar Cemetery, west of Vici.
Joy Faye Barker was born on August 20, 1935 to Walter Lee and Gladys Marie (Stewart) Barker northeast of Arnett, Oklahoma. She was reared in the Arnett area and attended school at Vici and Arnett. Joy Faye was saved at a Vici Camp meeting in August of 1975. She lived in several different towns, including Arnett, Vici, and Woodward, before moving into the Mooreland Heritage Manor on July 19, 2011.
Joy Faye was a member of the Apostolic Faith Church of Arnett and the Church of the Nazarene in Vici and Woodward. She had been associated with the OARC since 1981.
She is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Marie Barker, Elma Louise Swartz and husband Lonnie of Woodward, Lois Ann Worsham and husband Les of Nacogdoches, Texas; two brothers, Willie “Bill” Lee Barker and wife Virginia, Charles Dean Barker and wife Margaret, all of Woodward; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
