Clyde Lucille Martinez, age 87, of Neosho, Mo., formerly of Monett, Mo., passed away on Saturday morning, Aug. 6, 2011, while at Freeman Hospital in Neosho.

Lucille was born on Sept. 4, 1923, in Lone Wolf, Okla., the daughter of Marshall Luttrell and Lucinda (Aday) Luttrell. She was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett, as well as a member of the Railway Mail Clerks Association. Lucille enjoyed cooking, fishing on Roaring River and especially held a deep love for her grandchildren. For over 30 years, Lucille and her husband owned and operated J&M Appliance in Monett.

On Oct. 6, 1941, in Abilene, Texas, Lucille married Joseph Vincent Martinez. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1988.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Phillip Ruben Martinez; her parents, Marshall and Lucinda Luttrell; and 12 brothers and sisters.

Lucille is survived by two sons, Vince Martinez and his wife, Linda, of Joplin, Mo., and Joe Martinez and his wife, Jean, of Verona, Mo.; two daughters, Theresa Hall and husband, Sam, of Neosho, and Angela Hummel and husband, Steve, of Republic, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett. Father Paul McLaughlin will officiate. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday with Rosary to begin at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
