Mrs. Bertie Dobbs Mull, 89, of 2014 Maple Rd., died Sunday at 8:30 a.m. at a Rome hospital following several months' illness.

Mrs. Mull was born in Carroll County April 1, 1879, living most of her life in Floyd County.  Her husband, Oscar Mull, died 12 years ago.  Mrs. Mull was a member of Pleasant Hope Baptist Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. I. M. Shamblin of Rome; two sons, Preston Mull of Rome and Elmer Mull of Silver Creek; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren,several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hope Baptist Church with the Revs. E.S. Morris and Earl Collins officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hope Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The body will lie in state one hour before the service. The family will receive friends at the Henderson-Frazier Funeral Home Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. today.  At other hours they will be at the residence of a daughter, 102 Hawthorne Street. (Rome News-Tribune, Monday, January 6, 1969)
