Curtis's obituary states: "Curtis M. Dobbs, 84, 3 Circle Drive, Lindale, died Saturday in an out of town hospital, he had been in declining health for the past five years, his condition becoming serious one week ago."
"Mr. Dobbs, was born in Floyd County Dec. 24, 1875, son of the late Joseph B. and Mary A. Hollis Dobbs, and had spent his entire life here. He was a retired Pepperell Mfg. Co. employee, and a member of the Pleasant Hope Baptist Church."
"Surviving are his wife, the former Sara E. Stanford, to whom he was married in 1902; three daughters, Mrs. Fair Ballard, Akron, Ohio, Mrs. Douglas Padgett, Lindale, Miss Eula Dobbs, Lindale; four sons, Jether V. Dobbs, College Park; Dennis D. Dobbs, Silver Creek, Rte. 1, Willard J. Dobbs, Cedartown and Milburn J. Dobbs, Portsmouth, Portsmouth County, Virginia.; three sisters, Mrs. Nennie Compton, Gaither Park; Mrs. Bertie Mull, Rome, and Mrs. Bessie Atkins, Rome. Eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren also survive."
"Funeral services will be conducted at Pleasant Hope Church with the Rev. Willard Willis, and the Rev. E. S. Morris officiating with burial in the family lot of Pleasant Hope Cemetery, Floyd County, Georgia, the day and hour to be announced later."
"Active pallbearers will be T. P. Mull, Elmer Mull, Glenn M. Atkins, Von Brock, Oliver Tucker and Don Madden. The body will lie in state at the Jackson-Frazier Funeral Home and the family will receive friends there tonight from 7 until 9 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the home, 3 Circle Drive, Lindale. The body will lie in state at the church one hour before the services."
