Born to loving parents, Jeff and Josephine Sparks in Malo, WA. Dan spent his early years on the family farms in Mossyrock and then Boistfort. Dan attended college in Washington and later served in the U.S. Navy, spending considerable time in Japan. He was later employed by the State of Washington Department of Game & Wildlife for more than 30 years, enjoying his career where he worked diligently to enhance and maintain the beauty and wildlife of Washington. His great passions were his family, farming, agriculture, hunting and providing for all of his family.

He is survived by his devoted wife Mary, their granddaughter Kathleen Sparks, brothers Clyde Sparks (Rita), Max Sparks (Lee), sisters Betty Allen and Bernadine Muller (Carl), stepson Jack Hewitt (Shirley) and many nieces, nephews and close family friends.

He will be missed by all that were fortunate to meet him, as he touched their lives with patience, kindness, compassion and thoughtfulness.

There will be no services at the request of the deceased.
