Betty Aileen Allen
October 17, 1930 - February 14, 2014

Betty passed away on Feb. 14, 2014 at Providence Centralia Hospital. She was born in Malo, Wash. in 1930 to Jeff and Josephine Sparks. At the age of 14, Betty and the family moved to Mossyrock, Wash. where she graduated from Mossyrock High School.

Betty worked for the Lewis County PUD in Morton, Wash. where she met her husband, Cliff. They were married in 1951 after they moved to Winlock where Cliff continued to work for the PUD and Betty became a housewife and mom to three children. She was the proud grandmother.

In 1977, she went to work for Beesley's and in 1983 she bought what was to become Betty's Place in Toledo. After successfully running it for 16 years, she sold it to her daughter, Kay, who continues to run it. Betty was a active 60 year member of the Rebekah's, belonged to two garden clubs and was a member of St. Urban Grange. She enjoyed gardening, going to the beach and being around family.

She is survived by her children; grandchildren; sister; brother and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff; two brothers, Dan and Max Sparks; and granddaughter, Katie.

A graveside service will be held at the Salkum Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. on March 1, 2014, followed by a celebration of life at the Church of Brethren in Salkum. Donations may be made to the Visiting Nurses in her name.
