Report Injured Man's Condition as Not Good
The condition of Edward Finnell, 31, of 134 Warren Ave., who was taken to Elyria Memorial Hospital on September 23, was reported very poor today, despite several blood transfusions which he has been given within the past few days.
Finnell suffered a severe injury when he fell on the end of a pipe which was projecting above the ground at the side of Wykreff restaurant on Lodi street at 10am September 23.

Painter Injured in Fall Off Roof Dies
Edwin F. Finnell, formerly of Coshocton, died at 11pm Saturday at the Memorial Hospital in Elyria from injuries received two weeks ago in a 12 foot fall off a roof. He was 31.
The accident occured while Mr. Finnell was painting a building in Elyria. He suffered a rupture and death was due to peritonitis.
Mr. Finnell was born Jan 27, 1908, near Roscoe, a son of John W. and Alma Mirise Finnell. His mother preceded him in death. Six years ago Mr. Finnell moved to Elyria from Roscoe.
Surviving are the widow, Nellie Finnell; three children, Maxine, Marlene and Lois, all of Elyria; the father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. John Finnell of Coschocton; two brothers, John Jr. and David Finnell, both of Elyria; two sisters, Mrs. Harvey House of Cleveland and Mrs. George Sheldon of Elyria; a stepbrother, Perry Blackson of Coshocton, and a stepsister, Mrs. Mary Plotner of Miles.
Short services will be held at Elyria at 9am Tuesday, after which the body will be brot to the Salvation Army Citadel, where additional rites will be held at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in the Roscoe cemetery. The local citadel will remain open Tuesday morning to receive flowers.

A special memorial service will be held Sunday evening at 7:30. Three persons will be honored at this service, Commissioner John McMillian, chief of staff at the International Salvation Army, at one time had of the Army in the eastern United States, Mrs. Edith Almack, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Knapp, this city, and Edwin J Finnell, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Finnell, who were associated with the Army here several years ago.
Lieutenant Robert Barton will deliver the memorial message. The public is invited.
