Lavinia Frances Sunderland, 90, formerly of the Callao area, died this morning in Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Valley Chapel Church, north of Callao. Burial will be in the Callao Cemetery. There will be no family visitation. Friends may call at Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday and prior to services at the church.
Mrs. Sunderland was born Feb. 25, 1895 near Callao, the daughter of George and Lucinda Ellis Allen. She married Enoch Sunderland July 25, 1917, and he preceded her in death in May 1965. She was a member of the Valley Chapel Church.
Surviving are five daughters, June Speak of Kirksville, Doris Pyles of Callao, Norma Williams of Houston, Pearl Nickell of Brookfield, and Carol Abernathy of Cleveland, Ga.; a son, Donald Sunderland of Kansas City; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sons, Clark and Derald; four sisters; and five brothers.
