Jerome A. Golla
Jerome A. Golla, 42, of 308 Walker St., died Sunday at 6 p.m. at St. Michael's Hospital, following an illness of about two years. During that time he was hospitalized here and in Rochester, Minn., and Madison, entering the local hospital the last time early Sunday morning.
Mr. Golla., a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Golla, was born on Dec. 7, 1925, in Stevens Point. He was graduated from St. Peter's Parochial School and P. J. Jacobs High School. A World War II veteran, he entered the U S. Navy on March 21, 1944, and was discharged on May 6, 1946, at Great Lakes, Ill. He served as a gunner's mate on the U.S.S. Humboldt in the European - African - Middle East area.
Following his discharge, Mr. Golla returned to Stevens Point. He was employed by Preway, Inc., until his illness two years ago.
He was married on July 21, 1951, at St. Peter's Catholic Church to Marchita Newton, who survives.
Other survivors are four sons, Mathew, age 14, Mark, 13, Timothy, 10, and John, 2, all at home; five daughters, Michel, 15, Monica, 11, Stephanie, 8, Ann, 4, and Rosemarie, 3; two brothers, Robert Golla, 409 5th Ave., and Eugene, 356 Bukolt Ave.; five sisters, Mrs. Robert (Christine Pagel and Mrs. Fred (Romona) Siegel, Wisconsin Rapids, Mrs. Paul (Magdaline) Landowski, 400 Forest St., and Misses Mary and Theresa Golla, 409 5th Ave.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock at St. Peter's Catholic Church with burial to follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Dzikoski Funeral Home where a general rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Golla Funeral
The Rev. John Hodges officiated at a requiem mass Wednesday for the funeral of Jerome A. Golla, 42, of 308 Walker St. who died Sunday at St. Michael’s Hospital. Burial in Guardian Angel Cemetery followed the 11 a.m. church services.
The pallbearers were Thomas Newton, Marcus J. Newton, George Derezinski, Chester Golla, Arthur Waldherr and Henry Bemowski Jr.
Students of St. Peter's Parochial School attended in a group. Others were from Wisconsin Rapids, Milwaukee, Phillips, Pittsville and the Stevens Point area.
