Montpelier - Edna Hymas Eborn, 94, passed away on Sunday March 18, 2007 at the Bear Lake Skilled Nursing Facility in Montpelier, Idaho.
She was born Nov. 8, 1912 in Liberty, Idaho, the daughter of Benjamin P. Hymas and Elizabeth Price Hymas. She was the 16th child of a family of 20, 11 boys and nice girls.
She married Darrell Born in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on April 16, 1936. Edna loved living on the farm and helping her husband, where they raised their six children: Ellis, Bart, Brenda, Nina, Reed, and Mark. All of her children are active in the church and have been married and sealed in the temple.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in all the organizations of the church, both ward and stake. She said her church callings were her education, which was limited in her youth. Her special calling was the 30 years she spent in Primary. She loved the youth.
She and her husband, Darrell, sang in the ward choir together for many years. They also sang duets. They served in the genealogy extraction program of the church for eight years.
Edna is survived by her six children, Ellis (Jeannine) Eborn of Bountiful, Utah, Bart (Iris) Eborn of Montpelier, Brenda (Dean) Dopp of St. Anthony, Idaho, Nina (Stephen) Pugmire of Meridian, Idaho, Reed (Lorraine) Eborn of Fish Haven, and Mark (Gail) Eborn of Lanark, Idaho; 39 grandchildren, 101 great-grandchildren; one sister Ruby (Jesse) Hirschi of Ogden, Utah; and a brother Rao Hymas of Liberty, Idaho.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 24, at 1 p.m. in the Liberty LDS Chapel, where friends may visit with family from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. The interment will be in the Lanark Cemetery, with services under the direction of Matthews Mortuary of Montpelier.
