Clara Lucille (Hall) Mathis Abernathy, 85, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2004, at her residence.

Born in Gramling, South Carolina, on Saturday, November 30, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Clifford D Hall (1888-1966) and Clara (Stone) Hall (1890-1964). She was the widow of Alvin James Abernathy (1915-1995).

She retired from Inman Mills. She was a member of Inman Church of God of Prophecy.

She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Ledford; one son, Winton Mathis; eight grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Peggy Jean Mathis.

Funeral services were held at Seawright Funeral Chapel, Inman, South Carolina, at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, April 12, 2004, with Rev. David Bosler, Rev. Barry Looper, Rev. Foster, and Rev. Donnan Lawson officiating.

Burial was at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, South Carolina.
