Obituary, The Oklahoman, October 11, 1945
John Franklin Cook, 82, retired grocer and druggist, died Wednesday following a long illness in his home at 1811 North Homa. Cook, born August 5, 1863, in Monroe County, West Virginia, had been a resident of Oklahoma City since 1909. Operator of a retail grocery store when he first came here, he had also operated a drug store. For a number of years he had operated cigar stands in many downtown office buildings.

He was a member of the Maywood Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Callie, of the home address; two sons, W. F. Cook, of 3137 Northwest 28; and J. S. Cook, Dallas, Texas; and two grandchildren, Edward Stuart Cook in the Navy stationed at the Great Lakes training center, and Mrs. Joan Goodbread of 3137 Northwest 28. Services will be conducted in the Hahn Funeral Home Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment will be made in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
