John R. Collins, 75, of Ohiopyle, died in the Uniontown Hospital, Friday, May 12, 1961. Born January 19, 1886 in Stewart Township, he was a son of the late Isaiah and Lydia Boyd Collins. He is survived by his wife, Frances Myers Collins and these children; Ray, Lowellsville, Oh,; Charles, Harmony; John, Mill Run; Tom, Ursina; Jackson, Rockwood; Mrs. Jane Michaels, Bath, Oh; Mrs. Carol Degelman, State College; seventeen grandchildren; three brothers, Nelson of Uniontown, Charles and Eugene of Ohiopyle; two sisters, Mrs. Allis Glendenning of Apollo and Mrs. Cecelia Spittal of Ohiopyle.
He was a member of the Oak Grove Methodist Church and Ohiopyle Grange.
Friends are being received in the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, where services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Smith Hixson will officiate. Interment will be in Belle Grove Cemetery.
