He was born in Stewart Township, December 15, 1875, a son of the late Isaiah L. and Mary Dean Collins and lived all his life at Farmington and Ohiopyle. He worked as a farmer and beekeeper.
Surviving are six brothers; Roscoe, Charles, Eugene, Richard, David of Ohiopyle, Nelson of Uniontown, three sisters; Mrs. Eva Schaefer, Mrs. Cecelia Spittal of Ohiopyle, Mrs. Allis Glendenning of Pitcairn.
