Mathilda Holm
Services were conducted from the Chisago Lake Lutheran Church last Tuesday January 15 for Mrs Mathilda Holm of this community who passed away January 12, 1945 at the age of 86 years, 2 months, 4 days at the home of her niece Mrs Ralph Johnson after a lingering illness.
Officiating at the services was Rev Walton Kempe and interment ws made at the Chisago Lake Lutheran Cemetary.
Pallbearers were the following nephews Wm George Nelson, Carl Nelson, Fred Nelson, Ralph Johnson and two great nephews Charles Nelson and Marvin Nelson.
Mrs Mathilda Holm was born November 8, 1859 in Ronneby Blekening Sweden and came to this country and to the Chisago Lake community as a young girl with her parents in 1872. She was baptized in Sweden and later was confirmed and became a member of the Chisago Lake Lutheran Church June 8, 1873. As a young girl she went to St Paul to seek employment and was later married at St Sigruds Church. She was joined in marriage to Andrew Holm of St Paul, November 26, 1889, who passed away May 28, 1923. After spending many years a s a resident of St Paul, she again in 1924 moved to Center City where she resided with her sister the late Mrs Carrie Nelson for many years.
Mrs Mathilda Holm nee Dahlberg was the daughter of the late Peter S and Sigurd Dahlberg, one sister and two brothers and one adopted daughter having preceded her in death. Mrs Holm had the misfortune some years ago to fall and break her hip, from whose injury she never fully recovered and two years ago unable to care for herself. She moved to the home of hew nephew and niece Mr and Mrs Ralph Johnson of Lindstrom where she was tenderly cared for until her passing. Coming again to the Chisago Lake Community she again became a member of the Chisago Lake Lutheran Church until her death.
Surviving the deceased are the following niece, Mrs Ralph Johnson of Lindstrom, four nephews, WM George Nelson and Carl Nelson of Lindstrom, Fred Nelson of Center City and Carl Dahlberg a nephew living in Nebraska besides other relatives and friends.
