Amanda Derhammer, 6 Jan 1942, p. 3, col. 6 - Medina Co. Gazette: Funeral services were held in the Waite funeral home, Monday afternoon, for Mrs. Amanda Alice Derhammer, 70, who died in the home of her son, Robert Derhammer, south of Chippewa Lake, Thursday.
In charge of the funeral was Rev. Ernest T. Roney of Seville and burial was in Spring Grove cemetery.
Mrs. Derhammer, long a resident of Chippewa Lake, made her home with her son since last summer. She suffered a stroke on Manday which developed into pneumonia, causing her death New Years day.
Besides a son, she leaves three grandchildren, Mrs. Hazel Hauman at home,, and Mrs. Mildred Oneacre and Mrs. Hazel Shumaker of Akron; a great-grandchild; two brothers, Leister Arnold of Medina and Wilbert Arnold of Cleveland; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Kindig of Wadsworth and Mrs. Alma Coolman of Akron. She was the wife of the late Benjamin Derhammer.
Amanda Arnold Derhammer was born24 May 1871 to Susan Smedley (1845-1914) Arnold and Levi Harley Arnold (1844-19343)in Sugar Township, Wayne County, Ohio. She was the wife of Benjamin Franklin Derhammer (22 Feb 1861) (13 Jan 1922). They had 2 sons Blake Clayton Derhammer (06 Sep 1889) (20 Jul 1935) and Robert David Derhammer (15 Sep 1891) (28 Oct 1972).
Buried in Section 9 Lot 85 Grave 3 according to cemetery records.
