Frank J. Bernhardt, one of the best known railroad men in Indiana, died at 11:40 o'clock last night at the home of his mother, Mrs. Barbara Bernhardt, 1334 Ferry street. He was attacked with locomotor ataxia several years ago and his death was a result of the disease.
Mr. Bernhardt was born in this city forty-four years ago, and was well known. He was for twenty years employed as a conductor on the Wabash railroad, leaving the service three years ago, owing to ill health. He had a large circle of friends in the Order of Railway Conductors, of which he was a member. He was regarded as a first-class trainman by his employers and fellow workmen. Two children, a son and a daughter survive.
