John Henry Dahl, a former resident of Davenport and for 25 years a Cedar County farmer, died at Mercy hospital at 12:30 a.m. today following an illness of nine weeks. He was 64 years old.
Mr. Dahl was born in Heide, Germany, on May 1, 1874, and was educated in his native country. On April 18, 1887 he came to Davenport with his parents and resided here until 1913. He had been employed during those years by the Mueller Lumber Co. On October 13, 1898, he married Luzie Pohlman, and in 1913 the couple moved to a farm near Bennett.
Surviving are his widow; one son, Oscar, West Liberty; three daughters, Mrs. Edna Krafock, Clarence, Ia., Ella and Helen at home, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from the Runge chapel at 1 p.m. Monday with burial in Inland cemetery near Bennett.
