Born in North Dittmarshen, Germany on June 8, 1862 (s/b 1852), he came to America and directly to Davenport 42 years ago, shortly after his marriage in Germany to Miss Wiebke Dreesen. He was a member of the Troth Society.
Surviving Mr. Dahl is one son, John Jr. living at Wheatland, Ia., a brother, Adolph, living in Michigan, a brother Henry, living in Germany and four grandchildren. Mrs. John Dahl, his wife, died 16 years ago.
Funeral services will be held at the Runge chapel at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Interment will be in Fairmount cemetery.
