Catherine Harrington was born May 26, 1833 in Illinois. She died May 18, 1923, at Arland, Barron Co., Wis., and was buried in Lake View Cemetery, formerly known as the Upper Turtle Lake Cemetery, at Turtle Lake, Wis.

Catherine was married twice with her first marriage, at the age of 16 years, in 1899, to John Harvey Millard, who died of smallpox on or about Aug. 27, 1857. Their children were: William Haley, Loretta Maria, Frank Marion, Mary Jane, and Viana Matilda Millard.

On Aug. 26, 1877, Catherine was united in marriage to Baron Allison Stow, at Lura, Faribault Co., Minn. Baron was born Jan. 1, 1832, in Vermont, son of Alansing Stowe also born in that state. He died Oct. 30, 1903, at Almena, Barron Co., Wis., aged 71 years, 9 months and 29 days, and was buried near there in Lake View Cemetery, formerly known as the Upper Turtle Lake Cemetery. His military style gravestone is inscribed "B.A. Stow Co. E 4 Minn. Inf." In addition a beautiful red granite gravestone is inscribed "In Memory Of Mr. & Mrs. B.A. Stow." Baron was a farmer and minister of the Gospel. No children from this marriage.

MRS. CATHERINE STOW
Catherine Harrington was born May 26, 1833 in Illinois. At the age of 16 years she became the wife of John Harvey Millard. To this union were born five children, William Haley, Loretta Maria, Frank Marion, Mary Jane, Viana Matilda. Mr. Millard died in August, 1857. She married again in 1877 to Baron A. Stow and was a good mother to his six children. Mr. Stow died in October 1903. Since his death she has made her home with her son Frank Millard, near Hillsdale, spending the last four summers with her daughter, Mrs. Mary White at Barron.

Many changes have occurred during her lifetime. From oxen to flying machine, from homesteads in the trackless jungles to splendid improved farms. She has seen and done her part in the duties put before her. Mrs. Stow was baptized when about 27 years old and remained in the faith till her death, April 22, 1923, at the home of her son, aged 89 years, 10 months and 22 days. She is survived by her son Frank Millard, daughter Mrs. Mary White, stepchildren Esta Stow, Cecil Stow, Fannie Southworth, Minnie Lee, Nellie Bensend Minnis, 27 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were held at the Millard home on Tuesday, conducted by Rev. Peterson, and interment was in the Upper Turtle Lake Cemetery, Text: I Tim. 4:8.

Among those in attendance were Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Stow and Mrs. Minnis.
