Mrs. Susan Byrd Ulery, 92, of RD 8, Covert Road, died at 8:40 p.m. on Feb. 10, 1989, in Jameson Memorial Hospital following an illness. She was born in Somerset, Pa., on July 5, 1896, to Ross and Ella Garletts Byrd. She married Frederick E. Ulery, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1956. Mrs. Ulery was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Smith, at home, Mrs. Clarence (Dorothy) Randolph and Mrs. Lillian Sloan, both of Monroeville; a son, Fred E., of Cedartown, Ga.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home, 2439 Wilmington Road. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home by the Rev. Donald Cook, pastor of First United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
