Husband of Maybelle McDaniel Sheppard and the son of the late John Devaney and Macie Edith Randall Sheppard.Additional InformationBlacksburg -- Donald Howard Sheppard, 79, of 1497 Antioch Rd., passed away Friday, July 15th, 2011, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born in Grover NC, Mr. Sheppard was the husband of Maybelle McDaniel Sheppard and the son of the late John Devaney and Macie Edith Randall Sheppard. He retired as a mechanic at Timken and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Mr. Sheppard also served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Sheppard is survived by his wife, Maybelle McDaniel Sheppard, of the home; three sons, Mark and Allan Sheppard of Blacksburg and Brian Sheppard of Mocksville, NC; two brothers, Harold Sheppard of Blacksburg and Randy Sheppard of Kings Mountain; one sister, Frances Cavney, of Kings Mountain; 3 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild, and 1 great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents Mr. Sheppard was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Sheppard, and a sister, Carolyn Roberts

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM at Gordon Mortuary. Graveside services will be held Monday, July18, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Vernon Craig and Dr. Greg Little officiating. Michael D. Owens, Wayne McDaniel, Elijah Sheppard, Jeromy Sheppard, Justin Sheppard, and Chris Sheppard will serve as pallbearers.
