Jim Freeman died Saturday, Jan. 4, at his residence in Michie after a short illness at the age of 80. He was the son of Ola Mae Storey Freeman (#73405684) of Counce and the late Henry Franklin Freeman (#73405100). A veteran of World War II, Mr. Freeman was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church and a deacon for 46 year. He was a retired painter. Services were at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, at Center Hill Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Loren Locke officiated. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Rena Mae "Shorty" Curtis Freeman (#101587875) of Michie; two sons; a sister, Ann Franks (#136535017) of Savannah; three brothers, Tom Freeman (#87242755) of Counce, Clyde Freeman of Jackson and Glen Freeman (#96858220) of Chicago, Ill.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Freeman (#73405472).
