Schimmel, who was employed as a building engineer on projects at Purdue university, was a native of Boyleston. He was a member of the Kilmore Methodist church. Surviving with the widow are three daughters; a son; his father; the brother of Mulberry, and three sisters, one of whom is Mrs. Patchett.
The widow formerly was Mary Irene Stewart. They were married in 1928.
The funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon at the Hartman Funeral home, Frankfort. Burial was in the Whiteman cemetery.
