Mildred A. Massey, 95, formerly of 1552 E. Wabash St., died at 3:10 a.m. July 31, 2007, in her home at Wesley Manor Retirement Community.
Mrs. Massey graduated from Michigantown High School in 1930. She worked at Purdue University, 1955-77, performing clerical duties in the ADMS building. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star No. 7.
She was born Nov. 28, 1911, in Clinton County to Manson and Goldie Howe Schimmel. She married Donald D. Massey on Dec. 27, 1931, and he survives.
Also surviving are one son, Donnivan L. (Candace) of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Dorothy Cambridge of Wesley Manor; one grandson, Donnivan Jr. of Richmond, Va.; and a former daughter-in-law, Ann R. Massey of Williamsburg, Va.
Two brothers, Walter and Max Schimmel, and one sister, Roxie Patchett, preceded her in death.
