Mrs. Henry Elliott died Tuesday as a result of a stroke of apoplexy, which she suffered Sunday night. She was 43 years old and was a daughter of the late Arch Abel. The funeral services will be held at the U. B. church today. Mrs. Elliott leaves a husband and five children. One of her sons was in the service.

To this union were born five children, Mrs. Maye Pool, Ivan, Olen, Paul and Dean Elliott. Three grandchildren, Ivor, Eleanor, and Neil Pool, and three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. A. G. Bidwell, Holton; Mrs. E. L. Askren, Manhattan; Mrs. C. A. Chamberlain, Provo, Utah; T. J. Abel, Silver Lake; S. G. Abel, Circleville, also survive.
She united with the Baptist church at the age of 15, and was a member of the U. B. churh at Holton. She was a charter member of the Circleville Royal Neighbors. She was also a charter member of the Pleasant Hour club, and the first to be taken. Six of the members served as honorary pall bearers. All of her life has been lived in Jackson county, the last 20 years at her home east of Holton. Funeral services were held Thursday, December 23, at the U. B. church, conducted by Rev. Manion. Interment in Holton cemetery.

Henry Elliott, born in Gardner, Grundy county, Illinois, August 2, 1866 and died at Mayetta, Kansas, March 1, 1930, at the age of 63 years and 6 months. He moved with his parents from Illinois to Netawaka, Kans., in January 1878, moving later in the year to a home northeast of Circleville on the parallel. Here he grew to manhood and was married to Elanor Abel, daughter of Arch D. and Cynthia Abel of near Circleville on September 3, 1888. In 1901 they moved to a farm southeast of Holton where he resided until the death of his wife, December 21, 1920. There were born to them five children; Maye, now the wife of Charles Pool, of Hiawatha, Kans.; Ivon Elliott of Wichita, Kans.; Olen Elliott of Mayetta, Kans.; Paul Elliott of Manhattan, Kans.; Dean Elliott of Milwaukee, Wisc., all of whom were present at his funeral. In early manhood he united with the M. E. Church at Pea Ridge and later transferred to the Pleasant Grove United Brethren church. He was of a quiet, reserved nature and greatly loved his home and felt deeply the loss of his companion.
The end of his earthly career came quite suddenly and was a great shock to the family and all who knew him. He was on his return from a visit with his daughter at Hiawatha and was stricken with paralysis as he drove into Holton, but managed to guide the car to a safe place in front o f Bernard's Feed Store and stopped, but fell out of the car. Kind friends ministered to his needs until his son, Olen, came and took him to his home near Mayetta, but death claimed him in a few hours. He leaves to mourn his departure his five children, and five grandchildren besides his brother, Wilbur Elliott, of the old home, and one aunt Mrs. Delia Higgins of Kansas City, Kans. Funeral services were conducted by his friend, M. G. Hamm, from the funeral home at Holton. Friends from Mayetta furnished beautiful and appropriate music and acted as p all bearers for their old friend.Many floral tributes told of the love and esteem for him.
