Mrs. Susan Hannah Homme, wife of Joseph E. Homme, died in her home here Saturday at 12:30 a.m. as the result of a strike of apoplexy suffered Friday night.
She was a daughter of a Civil War veteran, Lewis Kelly, of Irwin, who served in the cavalry of the northern army from 1862 to 1864. Her mother was a daughter of Harry Lauffer, of Manor, one of the early settlers of that town.
Much of her life was spent in service of the church. She and her husband served several years in the Salvation Army at Irwin, Rochester and Connellsville. At the time of her death she was a member of the Free Methodist Church.
She leaves four sons, Eugene, of Bentleyville; Frank, George and John, of Ellsworth, and three daughters, Mrs. Charles Richardson, of Washington, D.C. There are a number of grandchildren.
