Ellsworth, May 17 - The body of Joseph Eugene Homme, 67, missing from his home since May 8 was recovered from the waters of a small dam here today.
A dangling hook on a fisherman's pole caught the body and workmen and others were summoned to bring it to the surface. Coroner William Baker was notified and started an investigation.
Members of Homme's family became alarmed when he disappeared from his home here over a week ago. Friends and relatives aided in a search for him but nothing was learned of his whereabouts. There was no evidence that Homme met with foul play and no reason was advanced for an apparent suicide.
A resident of Ellsworth since 1911, Mr. Homme was well known and had been employed as a miner. He leaves his wife, Susan, and the following children; Franklin, George, John and Edna Richardson, all of Ellsworth; Garnet, of Pittsburgh, and Amelia Poland, of Belle Vernon. An adopted son, Eugene, also lived here.
