Former Leavenworth Man Dies of Pneumonia While Serving in the Navy--Brother Lives Here.


Word has been received here of the death of Fred Chapman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Chapman of San Francisco, Cal., formerly of this city. He died from bronchial pneumonia.

Fred Chapman was born and raised in this city, the family moving to California about four years ago.

He joined the navy last spring and was to be sent November first to the naval training school at Chicago, with prospects of receiving a commission.

One [half-]brother, S[amuel] R[udolph] Harpster, resides at 707 Osage street in this city.
