Joan Grooms, 71, of Piketon, Ohio died Thursday, June 19, 2008 at her home. She was born March 8, 1937 in Jasper, Ohio, daughter of the late George and Ethel Sizemore Cutler.� On March 31, 1956, she was united in marriage to Willis Auburn Grooms who preceded her in death on November 18, 2007 after 51 years of marriage. Surviving are two grandchildren, of Piketon; two brothers and three sisters.� Also surviving are Kelly and Yvonne, Karen and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, a son, Willis Jo Grooms, a brother, Alva E. Dink Woolridge and a sister, Kathleen C. Daily preceded Joan in death. Joan was retired from Kroger with 37 years of service and was co-owner and operator of the Grooms Trailer Court on Long Fork Road for the past 38 years.� She was a 1955 graduate of Piketon High School and attended Bethel Chapel Church of Christ in Christian Union. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at the Howe Wheeler Boyer Hornback Funeral Home, Piketon with Rev. Larry Moore officiating.� Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery, Piketon. Friends may call at the funeral home 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Wednesday.
